Request Funding

The Ocean Avenue PTO funds extra experiences, events and programs for our children with the budget approved by members each September.

All funding requests are reviewed and we attempt to respond within 30 days of receipt of all requests. Please know that we do act within our budget, so our ability to respond to ad-hoc or unexpected requests is not always possible.

We appreciate you thinking of the Ocean Avenue PTO as a source of support for Ocean Avenue Elementary School.

PROCESS NOTE: A submitted form triggers an email to president@oapto.org and a copy to treasurer@oapto.org. Upon approval, the PTO President will respond to the request and copy the treasurer who will coordinate payment. The Communication Director will list the approved item on the website.

An example of on-going funding made possible by the PTO:

Ruth’s Reusable Resources – Each year, the Ocean Avenue PTO funds a one-year membership for Ocean Avenue Elementary School to Ruth’s Reusable Resources, located in Portland. The amount of the membership fee is based on the current year’s student enrollment. Ruth’s is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that students and classrooms in Maine have the basic tools for learning, by transferring surplus business supplies and merchandise into the hands of school children and teachers. A membership in Ruth’s Reusable Resources provides access for teachers to obtain school supplies, craft items and much more – at no additional cost beyond the membership fee.
